As long as that doesn't happen to PBS we are OK. But if commercial stations go away Congress and the FCC will probably be very aggressive in selling off the bandwidth to the highest bidder putting an end to over the air (OTA) TV.
I was in the hospital several years ago. At the time I was debating about upgrading our antenna or going with Cable or Sat. Watching cable was an enlightening experience. While there were interesting shows that were unavailable (OTA) ratio of commercial to program was so bad I pretty much lost interest.
