ISP service cancelation / MSN account inquiry

HI,
I am planning to cancel my Verizon dsl with msn service.
I am concerned that my @msn.com emails/account will be gone/inaccessible.....
Will I still have access to my @msn.com emails after I cancel the service with verizon?

Thank You for any information.

My understanding is that your MSN account with Verizon DSL is a grandfathered plan and once you discontinue using VZ, premium features such as McAfee and access to emails will be gone. The MSN package is available as a standalone with a subscription cost. It's no longer offered to new VZ customers.

Plan ahead by signing up for the free MSN Live/Hotmail email accounts and/or Gmail account and you can migrate ahead by notifying your contacts before dropping your current plan, and take advantage of email forwarding/filtering offering by these plans.

^ thx for the info, it is odd though, since i really never used any of those "extra "junk they offered with the "premium" account.
and i did a bit of research, and it looks like the @msn.com account is free just as hotmail....so i do not understand why would i need to loose my current @msn.com account.......and as usual valling verizon was a waste of time, mot people said that they have no idea, but they think ill loose it also, and they tried to get me to stay wit them.

It's not easy getting a simple answer as MSN would refer the question back to Verizon. Spoke with someone who cancelled VZ DSL recently but still have access to MSN email, but really not using at all - migrated their accounts to Gmail.

Correction, based on current policies - your MSN email addresses will stay - it doesn't change to hotmail.com, or become inactive or get cancelled (for now, anyway.) However, online file storage limit will changes along with any other special features not offered to "free" accounts - whatever they are.

In addition, you might be unable to download any MSN browsers updates or add-ons, unless it's available to free Live/Hotmail members - since it will sometimes "verify your membership" - i.e. I use the bundled McAfee Security Center via MSN on one of our laptop. If you use IE or Firefox as a standalone without extra add-ons, you will be okay then as along as you can retrieve your email using POP, etc.

Online technical support or help will not be available as those links are for subscription members only.
