Guess they're forum server is swamped with users trying to get in to report the problem. I couldn't get the page to load, either. |

 | reply to onDvine I am also getting it as well. Reporting NuSphere, SpyBot, FAR HTML (Help Creator).
Just submitted the phped.exe (NuSphere) to virustotal.com and it returned 0 positives |

 | reply to onDvine I don't know if anyone else has tried this, but to make matters worse, it flags any exe file you download as having the virus. I tried downloading numerous files from Download.com only to find that none of them would complete because they were apparently all infected with the delf-mzg trojan. Not good. |

Just submitted the phped.exe (NuSphere) which is a showstopper for me as I cannot work to virustotal.com and it returned 0 positives |

 | reply to onDvine Same happened to me I accidently deleted a few programs when the alert came up, it said the same thing when i tried to download a program. Started a boot-time scan and it froze up when it found a so called trojan |

 | reply to onDvine It flagged grand theft auto, spybot S&D and lots of other programs!
Is there an official response to this? |

Mele20Premium join:2001-06-05 Hilo, HI kudos:4 1 edit | reply to onDvine The Avast forum is intermittent. But I see no posts on this yet. I suppose this is because a page will load there slowly and then you click to start a new thread and get a 404 error. Then another couple of tries and you get a page there loaded ok but then the next click produces another 404 error.
I did see a new sticky thread on version 5 beta 3 which is what the major upgrade was about for me from ver 2 to ver 3. I can't read that thread though with the forum going intermittently dead.
I could see on the forum, before it went dead again, that the latest definitions update was a little over 2 hours ago so it is that version that is causing the FP's. I left Avast on default settings for updating. That means it updates every 240 minutes so many folks are just now getting this lethal update. -- When governments fear people, there is liberty. | reply to onDvine Avast said that Mailwasher Pro (Firetrust) and Wimpy FLV player were both infected with Win32:Delf-MZG. Both of these programs have been installed for a LONG time on my system.
I am pretty certain that this is a false alarm. I did send message to Avast and Firetrust to check. |

| reply to onDvine I got a couple of pages on Avast's forums to load and it looks like they're being inundated with posts about FP's on tons of software.
I just uninstalled Avast and installed MSE. Problem solved. Now....how long until my mother calls in a panic? -- Remember the 2008 firefighters and police LODD's in St. Louis: PO Ballman, Sgt. Biggs, FF Hummert, Sgt. King, FF Riggins... all murdered...RIP brothers. |

 | reply to onDvine Avast thought all my AutoCAD drawings were trojans. Fixed it by turning off avast. Hope they get a fix out for this asap. |
|
 | reply to onDvine Got the same thing just pop up-- legit, paid for, exe files that never flagged before just started flagging now.... just want to add my say into the pot--- hope they fix it quick.... it'll freak my wife out if the warning pops up on her :S |

 | reply to onDvine Getting false positive on my SUPER video converter. I simply paused the [Standard Shield] to stop the scanner temporarily until this is fixed. |
|
 | reply to onDvine Someone just told me that a program I have written (an editor for a programming language) was doing this. Judging by the programs people are saying have this problem, I've pretty well decided that anything written in Delphi has this problem. Hope Avast gets it fixed. |

 | reply to onDvine Avast has totally trashed 3 of our laptops and destroyed most programs..... |
|
 | reply to onDvine Both Desktop and Laptop started finding numerous trojans, win32:delf-mzg and win32:zbot-mkk. Desktop deleted 266 files and laptop 9 files prior to me find this site on my Ipod. I am extremely skeptical that I have that many viruses on 6% of my Desktop. I have no idea what has been destroyed. My Quickbooks program and my photos are the only two items that I really care about and Quickbooks seems to be fine. Freecommander is gone and Avast will not let me download a new version saying that it is infected.
I am going to try a system restore and not update Avast and see what happens. |
