When they began putting in the VRADs in the Mobile area, where I live, it took several months before they had power service installed in some of them. The VRAD that services my neighborhood was installed last spring (2009), but they didn't power it for a while and start offering service until September. In their initial rollout, it seems that they got the fiber in place first, then placed some empty VRAD cabinets on the concrete pedestals quickly all over town, then came back and installed the power and equipment at a later phase. Maybe it won't be too long for you.
the VARD on my block has power...the meter even spins on it...just no customers are being serviced yet.
Any plans to? NOPE! The street techs in my area even say, ATT hasn't said anything about what neighborhoods, they're busy trying to take out WOW in the city 3 streets over.
