Re: Problems with Catalyst Control Center The Xonar is a good card for OpenAL stuff, but if you got games that use EAX extensively, then sadly the only real way to go is with a bona-fide X-Fi (read: NOT the xtremeaudio).
In my case, I was trying to save up for an X-Fi Prelude, or the newer Forte. But then I ended up with enough in best buy rewards certificates that I was able to get the XtremeGamer for $50. And so, that's what I went with.
