Re: Official Mediacom Email Discussion Thread I just forwarded three e-mails from my Hotmail account to @mchsi.com, and only the second out of three made it. hehe.
Update (after ~15 minutes): All three e-mails have now made it. So working but slow from hotmail.com to mchsi.com. |

| reply to wth Looks like the email is down in the toilet this morning as Outlook takes 90+ sec just to check the recieving ....... or it's timing out as I had no new emails this am ....... which would be strange for me. |

rfnutPremium join:2002-04-27 Fisher, IL | Same here. Occasional timeouts, with original settings, which I have not changed. NO incoming this morning from usual newsletters etc.. Cant say if it is better, as I changed all my business mail to forward elsewhere until this blows over. |

 Web Mail Screen Capture |
I'm from Waseca, Minnesota. Email was working fine until midnight then it stopped responding. I cannot access it at all with an email client at this time, only via web mail, and then a little window pops up saying The server appears to be slow to respond, and may be unavailable. click here to cancel your request. Mediacom really needs to get there act together on this one. |

Re: Official Mediacom Email Discussion Thread $50.00 /mo.!!!! It's a ripoff!!! I pay that damn much... I better damn well get e-mail and internet and for that much I should be getting a nice piece of ass each week from Mediacom as well. They sure get a chunk of my flesh every month so cut the BS about "free"!!!!
Once again this Monday morning the e-mail system is F#*$ed up...sits there "Authorizing" until timing out.
There was absolutely no need what-so-ever to migrate to this "new" mail system. I can understand a short period "no more than 1/2 a day"...to do a change over, but here we are going into 6 days of "shit!" UNACCEPTABLE!!!! I am in the process of bringing this to national media attention, I hope others are as well!!!! |

 | reply to tarispissed We just did this very thing where I work (because we were purchased) and it took only a few minutes when the change over was deployed. That was because the IT department had staged and tested everything in advance and most importantly had a back out plan in case things didn't go as planned. As I said before, Mediacom's entire IT department should be sacked over this. There is no excuse for this kind of incompetence.
Oh, for informational sake, this morning, I can connect to the servers but I'm not queried for a password and still no email!! |

 | reply to wth Does anyone know how to recover the email filters created in Mediacom's prior web mail system? To reduce spam I had a list of email addresses to allow through, blocking the rest. Seems like none of that information was transferred to their new web mail (Zimbra) setup. Thanks! |

 | reply to lotusracer I worked in local television news twenty years ago; believe me, if enough people contact the national news media, they will become interested in covering it. Simply point out to whatever news agency you contact (ABC, NBC, CBS) how this changeover has been handled by Mediacom- the lack of proper planning, the failure to advise customers honestly and in a timely manner, the inability to actually make the changeover, and the CYA falsehoods told to the news media so far -and include a link to this website. Its a good story. |
|
 | reply to wth I finally am getting some mail on my home computer or if I log into the Zimbra web interface. But this is so ridiculous and I want some credit for all this!! It used to work on my iPhone and now it won't get any email send or receive!! |
|
 | reply to wth I have not received an email since Thursday. I have sent myself test messages a couple times each day. I currerntly use outlook and it appears to send and receive nothing comes in or get delivered.
If I log into »www.mediacomtoday.com/ to check email and click the "check email" link it simply times out.
I also tried the old webmail portal: »commcenter.mchsi.com. I can get into my inbox here but it shows no emails in my inbox.
I normally get 10-15 emails a day on this account.
Can anyone tell me HOW to get my emails sent to me in the past 4-5 days?
Can anyone tell me if I will ever get these emails? |

Most of Mediacom's e-mail problems were fixed Sunday...
Except my web-based e-mail aggregator still can't connect to my mchsi e-mail, but it could before all this started. Supposedly, we wouldn't have to change any settings after the changeover.
Anyone have settings that work for a web-based e-mail client? |

 | reply to Anonymous said by Anonymous:So regardless what you guys may think if email service is included for free with the internet access or not, it's just not a good idea to use ISP email access. Thats the same as saying,
You pay for cable TV, but if some of the channels in your package do not work its because you pay for the cable access not the channels? |

Most of the problems are fixed if you don't count the problems that aren't fixed, like timely sending and receiving of email. That's ok if sending or receiving is super slow or doesn't work, they got the main problem resolved...that pesky spam that clogged everything...yup...that's fixed...the spam is now flowing freely. -- Save water...drink beer! -- Democrats don't mind raising taxes because democrats don't pay taxes. |
