I would only buy a phone straight up with no discounts if the profit margin wasn't astronomical. Sell me a $200 gadget for $300 and I will bite. If you try and sell me a $200 gadget for $800 I will give you the finger.
IE, the Motorola Droid is "valued" at $590. Looking at the Samsung Omnia, it is "valued" at $30 cheaper. There is no way that is fair, or anything more than insanity.
