 | What am I missing? There is 1 feature that has not been discussed here. It is a feature that is near and dear to my heart (because the wife loves it, and yells at me that it's gone). And I think it explains why Tivo thinks of itself the way it does.
Suggestions.
No one else does this.
For those not familiar, Tivo will record shows without customer input, based upon viewing habits. These shows will then sit there, until deleted by the system to make room for new stuff, or deleted by the customer. These suggestions are then available for viewing anytime.
My wife LOVES this feature. When DirecTV comes out with their new Hi-def Tivo, we will jump right on board. |

jeffro join:2007-04-20 Bay City, MI | My TiVo HD is hands down the best DVR I have ever used. The interface is the best. It's easy and not frustrating to use. After using that so-called DVR that Charter is slinging out in my area, the switch was easy. That Charter DVR is the biggest POS I have ever used. I'm never going back to that thing. |

 | Much better than the cc dvr, just not as responsive as I would like it to be. The interface is nice. |

 | reply to viperlmw Because my suggestions always seem to suck?
I record a couple of crime shows and now the Tivo thinks I just want to watch every episode of Law and Order that comes on. |

One of the first things I do with a new TiVo is disable suggestions. I've been using TiVo for eight years and never really used suggestions until this year. I have one TiVo I use with suggestions and it does a great job of recording content that I like. I have it set for only HD channels so it only records suggestions from HD channels. If i had realized how well tiVo suggestions worked I would have been using it along time ago. I can go into the suggestons recorded list and at least 80% of the items are programs I like. |

Media center is even better, especially since you can have one DVR with 6 tuners and then use extenders throughout the house. |
