The real reason TIVO is continuing to struggle and losing ground continually is the availability of content through venues such as OnDemand, Hulu and iTunes. Even though the DVR will continue to live on for a while longer, it's days are numbered.
That's one reason, but the main reason is that joe sixpack is perfectly happy with his "tivo" from the cable company.
