Also, if Verizon says fast DSL will burn down my place, the only way they'd be able to do that is by installing a modem with really high current draw. Gotta love aluminum wiring...I have friends with 7 Mbps DSL from Qwest and their apartment is perfectly fine. Not even smoldering
