iPhone Electronics

Does anyone know if the electronics in the iPhone are of any particular brand that is known to cause problems? I know this is probably just a "blame game" in full swing but is there anything at all to this?

For several years I had U.S. Cellular and I thought the service was great. Then I renewed the plan and decided it was time for a bit nicer phone. My wife and I went from a Moto flip phone to a Samsung flip. Although the Samsung had more features, the sound quality, call setup and call reliability were horrible. There were pops, clicks and drop-outs during calls with the Samsung that were never there with the Moto. Both of us experienced it and we wound up returning the phones within the 30 day trial period and paying more for Moto Razors. The new phones eliminated the problems.

Since then, I tried Cricket for a time with another Samsung phone. Same problems. I know that could have been the Cricket network but the problems were identical to the problems with Samsung and U.S. Cellular.

Now I have an iPhone and I have a completely new set of problems. Call reliability stinks. No pops or clicks, just lost calls and calls that after 30 seconds, never go through. Once I make a call, it sounds good if it lasts.

Bottom line: Any chance there is truth to the iPhone electronics at least playing a part in AT&T's troubles?

I've wondered this myself. We have 2 non-iPhone smartphones with AT&T and when we had data service it seemed to work fine.

The phone matters. No matter what some Apple fanatics will claim now.
