Re: A better DVR? Eh. The HR2x aren't that bad. They're not as refined as TiVo but they have most of the function. They also have nice large capacity. Given a choice between the HR2x and paying extra for TiVo, I'll stick with the HR2x.
And yes, I've used TiVo. I even own a Series 3 with Lifetime service, but I still use the HR2x w/ DirecTV, because the overall service with DirecTV is much better than Time Warner+TiVo.
