Give it to us free if we are paying for it

I will never get this, the government flips the bill with tax money, so that companys then can over charge us to pay for it? Fuck if we payed for it in taxes then hell it should be free, hell if the goverment was trust worthy they could provide us intenet access and charge us in taxes the actual cost of providing the service, aka like $4
