 | Cell phone cancer is like creationism It's already been PROVEN there is NO LINK between cell phones and cancer.
Fact #1: CANCER is caused by IONIZING RADIATION. That's the kind of radiation you get from x-rays and stuff. It's the kind of radiation that can interact at a molecular level to change atoms. Cell phones, wireless hubs, etc, on the other hand, give off non-ionizing radiation, which affects.. nothing.
Fact #2: Have you ever flown in an Airplane? If so, you were bombarded with more radiation than you would get by holding a cell phone next to your head for 50 years. Should we put a warning label on Airplanes too?
Fact #3: There is NO SCIENCE to prove that cell phones cause cancer. Period. Forcing the manufacturer to put a warning label with no scientific backing is no better than teaching creationism is school. Both of them are junk science. -- Remember 1 in 4 people are retarded. 25% of Americans are Republican. Coincidence? I don't think so. |

We can link environmental factors to increase in cancer and make reasonable assumptions, but to make a flat out claim like you just does not make it a fact. |

| reply to karlmarx Fact #1 - There are many causes of cancer. Proving causality is extremely difficult.
Fact #2 - I'm a little confused by your argument. In fact 1 you say cell phones do not emit ionizing radiation, then in 2 say flying at altitude results in higher exposure.
It is true the higher you are the less atmospheric there is to protect you from high energy radiation. How that equates with cell phone usage is unknown.
Fact #3 I agree.

Any aircraft that is pressurized will have metalized coated windows (clear windows tint) which blocks 99.9% uv radiation.
This would certainly include commercial jetliners as well.
If I remember my physics classes correctly, the nastier radiation is partially blocked by earth's magnetic field - which extends well beyond the reach of any aircraft. |

the main point for what he was on is the fact of ionizing vs non-ionizing radiation. microwaves merely heat, you need xrays and gamma rays to fubar your gene code, which is where cancer comes from. CAN the milliwatts produced from a cellphone hurt you if you talk for hours every day? its possible. but it aint gonna be cancer that you get. more likely you would have an injury from cooking your brain IF you have hacked your phone to run at full power 24/7. the only time it runs at high power is when it makes a connection.
ultimately, you'll get more damage from sitting in front of your TV or microwave oven... just be sure you have your nose pressed against the glass... -- If ya gotta go, Go with a SMILE! »www.thereligionofpeace.com/ |

1 edit | reply to The Limit ::sigh:: Upon reflection, I do not wish to post. Take me back!
I'm confused as to how creationism has anything to do with the topic at hand, it looks like somebody just picked something "random" to bash.
"Don't force Christianity on me! But I'll bash it like I please. Please and thank you!"
Somehow I think this should go both ways? Or does one party just have to suck it up and pretend like you didn't just go off-topic and possibly offend a few people on this site?
