Ford had an exclusivity deal for the US market while Fiat had the global exclusivity deal.
A Fiat would not have the system in the US and Ford does not offer the system outside the US.
It looks like in 2010 the exclusivity deals are over.

Fiat has Sync using a different name.
And what about when Fiat finishes takeover of Chrysler? Will Blue&Me be available in Fiat/Chrysler cars?

Only ford could sell Sync in the US and only Fiat everywhere else.
It looks like these deals are ending so then Sync will open up to other manufactures and other markets.
