Thats why some states don't have income taxes (WA for one) and others dont have sales taxes (NH for one). To use your thinking, the sales taxes you pay for your clothing should deter you from buying clothing. Therefore, that must mean that the state wants you to run around naked... or how about the sales tax you pay on your car? that must mean that the state wants you to walk everywhere. Or how about the tax on fuel? that must mean that the state AND fed wants you to capture your farts to burn in your car.... no... taxes are to pay for the operation of the government and ONLY to pay for the government. all these fluff programs need to be deleted. if you are fat, than fix yourself. If you can't, then do the world a favor and take 2 to the chest...

You need millions of dollars to run for a congressional seat. You need to get money by fundraiser. Top contributors are almost always business and industry. Once you do your time and do what you're told, you get a job as a lobbyist or a public speaker.
