Re: People won't care

They can pass a law demanding radiation levels be placed next to cell phones on store shelves, and pretty much 99% of customers won't care. It will be 1 more annoyance to the marketing depts of ISP retail stores and 3rd party electronics stores, but otherwise will have no effect on sales decisions.

Tell me the last time you checked out the warning about smothering on a box of Saran Wrap when buying it at the store.

But some dumb pol will tout himself as looking out for consumers best interests the next time he runs for office in San Francisco and will use things like this to prove his warm concerns for the voter.

And cellphone makers won't fight hard against this insanity because they can use the warnings in court as proof of their lack of liability if they ever get sued by people with brain cancer.
A better example is smoking. We know that smoking is bad and can slowly kill you. At the very least, almost every smoker I know smells like something you would find in a toilet . But, MANY people do it anyways.

You can put all the labels on harmful products all day long, it's just a waste of breathe; as no one reads the fine print in a contract - do you really think they will read the fine print on a label?
