Re: [Internet] Brighthouse Internet issues - Titusville, FL Protip: When calling BH support make it clear that you DON'T have a router and that your computer is hooked directly into the modem. Either that or say that you've tried hooking your desktop/laptop directly into the modem and the problem still persists. 9 times out of 10 they'll just blame whatever problem you are having on the router. Not to rule out the router as a potential trouble spot though... |

 | reply to ferraridom Confirming from Rockledge that the issue exists, also confirming that Brighthouse Tier 1 tech support are about as sharp as a sack of wet mice whilst saying "our logs show nothing!" FML |
 | I've been having the same exact problems here as well (Central Florida) since last night. |
 | reply to ferraridom Here, in Winter Park, FL is a same. This morning when I turned on my PC Google was too slow, but some other as Yahoo was faster. By 11:30 PM still slow. |

 | reply to ferraridom Same here in West Orlando (Central Florida); until BHN fixes the problem I guess I'll have to use Google.ca as a "workaround". |
 | reply to ferraridom I'm in Palm Bay, FL (covered under Central Florida) and I have been having this issue for the past three days. Tonight has been the worst, especially with google cache on search results.
I reset my router and modem and it took almost five minutes for the connection to come back up, normally less than 1 second.
I haven't bothered to contact them but I did note that their Network Status at help.rr.com says all systems are Green, >:( |

 | reply to ferraridom I have been going crazy as well. Started with google then had trouble accessing my company webmail. I am using my att broadband card and google, webmail, etc is working fine so they definitly have some issues and I hope that the higher support tiers are aware of it. The folks that you get on phone are useless. I hate to say that....as an example I had some latency issues the other day and after all their normal suggestions the lady on the phone came back to me and said that her manager suggested that I clear my browser cache.....LOL. Magically about an hour later the problem was resolved. As for this one...very frustrating. I am sorry to only agree with you....guess we will have to wait at this point. |

 | reply to ferraridom same here in CFL longwood area started yesterday late morning (thursday) at first I thought due to the local traffic in my neighborhood with family in town (streaming movies en mass) sometimes a certain website works fine, next min it loads 1/3 of the way. thankfully?? it's not just me |
 | reply to ferraridom Same thing here in Orlando, I first noticed it on Christmas morning, you tube share links won't work, Gmail won't load and iGoogle won't load. My speeds seem to be OK when I run speed tests but many web pages won't load at all or won't load fully, I have spinning hourglasses on most of my browser tabs. Tried rebooting the cable modem. Same issue on many different browsers and on 2 connected computers. |
 | reply to ferraridom Has anyone spoken to anybody at Brighthouse about the problem? Seems pretty widespread, still bad here in Melbourne. |
ruxi join:2009-02-24 Winter Park, FL 1 edit | I tried calling them yesterday, but I just can't tolerate their stupidity. It's obviously not our routers, modem, or connections. But the monkey still has to read his/her script.
As of 8:41am, the issue seems to remain. |

vasta join:2003-04-07 Orlando, FL | Can't load gmail this morning, Still can't load a few other sites...
Still only able to load Youtube videos @ ~100kb/sec...but at least the site loads today |
 | reply to ferraridom Winter Springs Area. Can't get to Google.com, Gmail.com, and any web page that references Google will stop dead in its tracks when attempting to load. |
 | reply to vasta I'm not very knowledgeable regarding this stuff but I have a question. I've also been having trouble in Oakland Florida area for a few days. Here's what I've noticed. If I do a cmd ping test to google.com I do not see packet loss. If I do the same test to youtube.com I have a lot of problems. Does this indicate a Brighthouse problem or a youtube problem. Sorry for a dumb question but trying to figure out how to test my system. |
 | reply to scott7876 I got with RR support via chat yesterday but got the typical run around. |
 | reply to Jeb More info. Running a continous Ping test to google.com and it comes back fine with no packet loss. 19ms average time. However, google will not load or is very slow. Hmmm, network issues or google issues? |
 | It might help to start keeping track of host names & IP addresses in the event that anyone from Brighthouse/Road Runner actually reads this...
I can ping google.com with no packet loss 74.125.47.99 - resolves back to yw-in-f99.1e100.net
If I ping "www.google.com" i get significant packet loss (~50%). It resolves to www.l.google.com - yx-in-f105.1e100.net (74.125.45.105) |

 | reply to Fubar13 Its not just google, can't get to company's terminal server on a nuvox network or several sites at a level3 datacenter local in orlando. |
 | reply to ferraridom Many web pages on loads of sites are not fully loading, if I have multiple tabs open they have the spinning icon indicating that the pages are not completely loading. It's such a random selection of sites with the problem that it must be a connection issue. It's like the site receives the request and then not all of the data is being received at my end. For me this issue started approx 24 hours ago. Has anyone had any kind of acknowledgement from Brighthouse or RR that there is even a problem? |
 | reply to msantoli yeah, based on xendrome's VPN problems and benv's comments from contact with Tier 3 support, it would *seem* to be a larger routing issue that appears to be mostly affecting comms with sites under the google umbrella. |
