Re: Comcast problems Not my residence...as I had perfect service prior to Comcasts takeover...Countless techs and line techs and a few network bigwigs looking at now and have been for some time.
I rehooked the Cable back up and we are getting the ocassional distorted sound throuugh the TV and/or my Denon...gee last time that happened it was a Head issue (Heads up from one tech that came out and informed me they were replacing a 'Head' in a week or two) and sure enough once they replaced it the distorted sound disappeared. 4 months later, it's back. Of course the other scripted answer kiddies wouldn't admit to it. They were playing the Corporate scripted...'Not Comcast fault' crap
Its a simple Comcast policy that over sell the Nodes and over compress the TV signals to squeeze everything thing they can to keep actual bandwith at less than and charge a premium.
There is way more info/data than what I have here on DSLR and I am not hiding too hard from folks that want to know who I really am.
My standards are not hard, but rather simple and should be easy. Simply maintain the level of service that I usually experience in the wee hours of the morning at 'primetime' or 'normal' usage times. & quit distorting the Local HD channels they are required by FCC regulation to broadcast 'unhindered' 'altered' (my own words to sum up the regulations)
So please take the 'not Comcasts fault' fanboy rhetoric and keep it to your self uh -- »www.freedombuild.net »www.freedom-builders.biz |

 | Dang right they are trying to "squeeze" everything they can out of a 750Mhz system! There is a lot of demand for the latest, greatest services out there and they are delivered. Rest assured they are also within the guidelines of FCC regulations as Rockford has a compliance officer living in town! I am not sure what you are referring to as a "Head"? I don't think you mean node but maybe an amp or some components near your home. One thing you continually sidestep is the fact that people like me do have good service and yes even during prime time. The entire system is not crap as you imply. I've lived in many states and have had COX, Time Warner, Cablevision, Insight and Comcast and it's never "perfect", but usually a lot darn better than the competition like Dish & DSL. It's actually quite amazing what the Cable providers have done with the HFC plant. May sound like fluff to you and I truly wish you were in a better situation because no company wants their customers to be dissatisfied with their product. There is a lot that goes into it from the kid that trogs through the snow and ice on Christmas morning to re-string a fallen drop to the call person who takes a beating at the end of the day. Merry Christmas SW |

| I have nothing against the regular workforce of Comcast. Only against its apparent policies from Corporate on the scheme of the way they choose to rip me off as well as others and ties the hands of the regular workers.
I would like to know who this compliance officer is here in Rockford..save me some time with the letters..
Until I actually run across an unbiased person that isn't experiencing issues with Comcast or I find another part of town or outlined areas that tests otherwise. I will not change my stance on what I claim. It's rather unfortunate that the few speedtest I have done in Loves Park, North Park, Cherry valley and a few spots in Rockford were consistent with less than desirable results ...granted I don't go around everywhere testing either.
In fact I would like to see it showing good. Then at least we would be on a track to narrowing it down.
Nevertheless...A Merry Christmas to you as well in all sincerity. -- »www.freedombuild.net »www.freedom-builders.biz |
