"Announcing it" and "getting it" are 2 different things. Knology has always been a little behind Comcast in rolling out services BUT they have reported that higher speeds are in the works.

It was 2-1/2 years before Comcast gave us VOD AFTER they started rolling it out nationwide. It was 3 years before they gave us digital phone here. Knology had phone here before Comcast but rolled VOD out about 1 year after Comcast.

Knology generally has cheaper prices (although they both suck for TV prices/equipment fees). However Knology offers full newsgroup access and no "download limits". And, other than a hiccup during the first part of this year, I can hit almost 7Mbps on my 6Mbps account.

I see Huntsville seems to have issues in parts. Keep trying them. Call/talk to your local manager. We have in PC and always seem to get responses then. They do seem to be more willing to help (when you talk to the local office and not to a CSR) then Comcast ever was.

That's like saying that Chevy or Ford sucks because Ferrari go faster..... Comcast has deep pockets Knology comes in to offer competition and you want Ferrari for the price of a Cadillac....

This is why they rolled out new services first They can afford it.

Thanks Goober for coming to their defense

We agree that faster internet speeds are important and will be launching Docsis 3.0 in select markets starting with the Huntsville and the PCL area. Knology will offer residential and business customers comparable speeds to ComCast starting in mid February 2010. We will post more information on our website www.knology.com and a press release once more information becomes available.

I am starting to get a little anxious here in Augusta. Comcast rolled out docsis 3.0 like 5 months ago, and Knology doesn't appear to be following close behind.

Some of my gaming friends just have the normal Comcast package, and they're getting 12M down and 3M UP.

Compared to my 6M down and 350k up with Knology.

Aside from bandwidth, about 75% off the games we play my ping is about double what theirs is. Its usually them=50, me=100. Also, there's some route to this one Canadian provider that must be horrible... They ping 60, and I ping 200.

Depending on the cost, I may be giving Comcast a try.

I don't know about where you live, but Knology never threatens to cut off my service when I download 24/7 from the FREE, UNLIMITED Usenetserver Usenet service Knology provides.

Comcrap provides 2GB/month from Giganews and sends out threatening letters to customers who DARE to load up and download 24/7 at cap speed for days on end.

Thank you, Knology! Comcrap can provide 3GB/second and Knology will STILL be the better ISP. Bandwidth is useless if you're not allowed to drink from it.

....that's why. Knology rocks in Charleston!....

That is one benefit of Knology. When i first discovered knology's usenet server, I downloaded 250GB in 4 days. Comcast would have canceled my account or throttled me down to 56k. My only complaint about Knology's usenetserver is it only goes 60 days back.

Just to clarify, Comcast no longer offers usenet at all!

Did you do anything to get that? I live in Madison and finally had enough and fired off a complaint to Knology. A CSR replied back saying they just upgraded this week.

There's another guy having low uploads. He called tech support and they're sending a tech out to check out his issue.

Remember, its "up to"... The best I've had is:

But I've had what you're getting a few times too.
