Internet over rated.

IMO, The internet as a need is over rated. Sure it has made some things easier. For example looking up directions, staying in touch with people, and a few other things.
But would it end the world if it were to go away? No.

It amazes me as to how dependent people have become on tech today. I have a friend that loves his pre [before that Iphone]. He tweets, he blogs etc etc. I'm like so?
Sure the tech is nice to have, but it's not needed. It's like the segway. Sure you can pay a few grand for one, but dang it, walking works just as well.

So the rural areas not having the internet, big deal. What are they missing out on? Free porn and hack attempts?

Some people prefer the unpluged way of life. I like tech, heck i own some nice tech, and have a electronics degree. But i am not dependant on tech.

I want Obama money. "wheres it comming from?" I dunno, his stash. I don't care, I just want obama money. Shows the lack of education and the greed of people. Hand outs from the government comes from your pay check and wallet. Think about it.

Ahem. Thanks Buddy.

I'm the friend he's referring too..

I use all my techy stuff a lot because it's a childhood dream come true (among other things..). I've always wanted something that can do what my current tech does now. I feel like I can escape from "normal" for just a few minutes and absorb the creative thought processes that went into my stuff.

When I use my Pre, am I really looking at something important or am I just using the phone to look it do something? You'd be surprised how often the latter occurs. Or maybe not. I'm just curious. I like to think about how it works and how they made it. And I like to take the time to appreciate it's artist value. To me, it's interactive art. You're manipulating these intentionally gorgeous looking screens around. It's clearly about aesthetics and user experience.

These things make people happy. People like me.

Am I dependent on it? Yeah.. that's one of negatives. While this stuff is helping in life and letting me be creative anywhere, it takes up as much space as the convenience it removed.

Snakeoil was kind enough to not mind us driving to the Sprint Store to get my Pre replaced. It wasn't working right, and I "had to have it". Not that we had someplace to be but it's obvious from that that I'm tethered to these.

So again, it's great to feed my imagination but it sucks I must have it everywhere.

So, in my attempt to prove you incorrect and come up with a poetic excuse as to why I use my tech all the time, I've done a complete 180 and I have to agree with what you're saying. Damn it you're good..
