One is totally free, the other sells DVDs, pay by the minute, or stream to own.
Their stream to own means I pay a fee, can be as low as 2 bucks to as high as 20 bucks, and I own the movie. as long as this place stays in business, I can stream that movie as many times as I want to.
I really like the stream to own option as I don't have a bunch of DVDs setting around.
Netflix on the other charges a monthly fee, and you can watch as many movies as you want. So I can see where Hollywood would want a tad more return on their buck.
Maybe if netflick charged a little more for the streaming? Or even did a stream to own option?

you just have unlimited view license. no authentication, and your "owned" content is suddenly.. not yours.
to own implies to have the rights to. you don't have that.
to own a viewing copy means to have the ability to watch it when you want it where you want it with no verification needed. aka you can burn your own porn movies (though i doubt anyone will watch those) and carry them in your pocket.
you don't own squat when the content needs to be autheticated prior to every view. thats a LICENSE. you dont own it.

| I used the term owned as in being able to watch it anytime I want, not the type of own where I hold the DVD in my hand.
The only difference is that I don't have a physical copy. But I can watch the copy I purchased any place that I have access to it, any time I want.
So what if I have to sign in to watch the movie?

Doesn't have to be a bittorrent site. Do you HONESTLY think the content producers want to give you full 15, 20 30 minutes scenes for FREE? The cointent on those sites come form peole that have ilelgally downloaded it form torent sites or ripped it form a DVD then uploaded to that site. Those sites are "user" uploaded sites so they can play all innocnent if someone says anything about the content. They know that all that content uploaded was obtained illegally and they don't care.
Now you may not care either, but think about this. The people making porn aren't doing it for charity. They are doing it as a BUSINESS to make a PROFIT. If the PROFIT is not there then what is the incentive to keep making it? There is none.They'll just move on to something else. So in in 2020 when all you can see is old porn because no one is making any new stuff then blame yourself.
This applies to regular movies, tv shows, music, games, software too. I'm not sure why people that expect stuff for forr seem to think that people will continue to make this stuff if there isn't any profit motive involved. If your boss told you that you would now have to work for free would you continue to work that job or get a different one? So why expect these people to work for free.
I know, I know. It's only YOU, just one person, so that's not hurtng anyone if just YOU are geting the stuff for free. Yeah expect it's not just you. And if it's ok for you then it's ok for everyone. And if it's ok for everyone then there is no profit.
Trust me if a studios want to make amovie and it was goig to cost $200 mil but reasearch show thhat the movie would be heavily downloaded and only make $150 million because of that then they aren't going to make the movie beause they aren't going to eat $50 mil just to provide you with free entertainment. When I go into Burger King I don't expect a free meal and when you ask me if I want to supersize my combo I don't expect you to work for free. |
