Re: A shoot and a miss

I have to say something tho... I think your pricing estimates are way off.

A standard desktop is about $600 (you did say "standard)
A normal laptop is on average of about $450-600
A netbook, sure, average price is about $300-400

...and I"m really not sure what a small netbook based "desktop" is.. a netbook isn't a desktop.

And honestly, I've never seen a netbook costing $2,000 ... got a link to one?

Also, we're here again with the way out of the norm set up to make phone calls. While you're right, someone can get a netbook, 3G coverage, skype, bluetooth, yada yada.. no one is going to do that as a cell phone, its simply no comparison. YES, it COULD be done, but when talking in comparison, its just not a valid one.

I'm not sure why you brought up Linux other than maybe reference, however, again, it's not a mainstream O/S, and if it's for cost comparison, in a netbook, XP isn't really a cost factor.. the makers pay generally about $5 to $10 for the O/S in bulk for the OEM license.
