[DSL] Spliting off the DSL

We wanted to move our Computer station from upstairs to down stairs so I bought cable and Phone line from Lowe's to run through the attic. I got a spliter/duplicator to run off of the connection upstairs so I could leave a connection up there. Is there a differance between the DSL cable installed by comcast and the cable I bought at Lowe's? or do you have to have a special duplicator cause it's not working.

You've used several terms interchangeably and confusingly. Define: cable, phone line, splitter/duplicator.
"Cable" can be almost anything.
"Phone line" can be 2-wire flat, 4-wire flat, 2-wire round (twisted pair), 4-wire round (2 twisted pairs).
"Splitter/duplicator" can be almost anything.

How about posting URLs to the Lowe's web site for these things?

When did Comcast Cable start installing DSL or selling DSL?
