 | Atrocious internet speeds We just weathered the storm of the onslaught of visitors to Tahoe Donner for the Christmas/New Year's holidays. My DSL speeds plummeted between 7 PM and midnight for most of this time. Typical download speeds were very erratic from 5.1 Mbps (normal) to as low as 7-8 kbps! Calls to ATT service got no one who could explain, but we all know what it is because tonight, Jan 3, 2010, my speeds are back up to normal. Obviously, ATT DSL cannot deliver enough bandwidth when we have a large number of households present and accounted for and using the service they pay for. This problem can be fixed, but it requires ATT to provide more bandwidth. We deserve the service speeds we pay for, so ATT, step up to the plate! |

I would start by looking in the modem at the diagnostic page. If you see a 6.0db or lower it's time to start checking wiring and filters. -- If you have a topic in the direct forum please reply to it or a post of mine, I get a notification when you do this.
