They completely ignore any and all opposing viewpoints, no matter what they are.

I gladly pay for good art. But it does beg to be free.
I'd rather pay the artist directly, though.
A lot of good information, is still free. Copyright is really a thorn in the side of all human existence. Maybe the abuse of copyright is.

Folks are disgusted by corporations that are "too big to fail" and just a few months later reward key staff with billions in bonuses for doing what, running the company into the ground? The real crime is the public paid for this nonsense at least three times:
1) Lost 401k value
2) TARP funds
3) Bonuses siphoned from the partial recovery of #1
Does this make illegal copying right or even justify it? Of course not but I do believe it explains why folks do it. Many probably feel like they are taking back what was taken from them. Yes, that's vigilante but isn't that at the root of revolutions?
If what I'm saying is true, it seems logical that these feelings could be alleviated with something other than the RIAA and MPAA's seemingly endless iron-fist approach. Are they on the side of being "right" with this approach. Absolutely. But you can be right all day long and never get what you want. | |
