How many Customers are involved

$6.10 a month for four years is $292.80. Dividing that into $65 million is 222,000. Is that really all the customers they have in Missouri or are they padding the bill a little?

Fines are considered "normal business expenses" by the IRS so they get to deduct them. The the government doesn't get the full amount.

I agree their definatelty padding the bill, St louis alone has 1 mil people and if only 10% used their services it would be 100,000. I know more than than 1 in 10 I talk to use their services.

It probably includes "lawyer fees and other expenses related", so yeah, padding a bit. OR, they expect to loose that many and only have 222,000 left over the next 4 years

What's a good estimate on how many ATT customers in MO? 800,000?

That's easily 200 Million dollars or more! $200,000,000.00

If you own a business or live in the City of St. Louis, AT&T said it will not pass its tax onto you, because the city did not take part in the settlement.
According to the article, this specifically excludes St Louis from the fee, which I assume excludes a big chunk of Missouri customers.

But it included St Louis county which I assume St Louis is located in that county so they would see a charge.

Re: How many Customers are involved

St. Louis City is located in the County of "St. Louis City".

Confusing, I know. St. Louis County is the burbs.

Re: How many Customers are involved

St. Louis is an independent city. It is NOT part of any county.

"St. Louis County" basically constitutes the suburbs.

The city used to be part of the county until 1876.

-------------------------------------------------

Similarly, in Maryland, Baltimore is an independent city, NOT part of the neighboring Baltimore County.
