wow Karl

Jeez. Read the article much? Talk about inaccurate blurbology.

They'll be adding a $6.10 "special municipal fee" on to customer phone bills in Missouri every month for the next four years...
When in fact, if you read the article
Her November phone bill showed a one time charge of $6.10
Further down in the article,
residential customers will be charged .59 cents to $1.99 per landline. Business owners will be charged .76 cents to $3.50 per landline.
I understand how fashionable it is to hate AT&T, but jeez, really?

The fact that AT&T is charging their customers for anything dealing with their tax issues is absurd

Whether it is $6 per month or just $6 one-time

you missed my entire point.

No, I got it. I just said it didn't matter whether he was right or wrong about the amounts.

Actually it does. Misreporting is one of the worst things you can do period.

Well no, charging people for your own tax problems is much worse

Again your still missing the point and drop it. Yes it's wrong what AT&T did but reporting bad information is also bad.

And again, I am not missing your point whatsoever

I understand the major difference between what Karl said and what the article said and i also understand wanting the news reported accurately

But in this case, I don't really care that much about whether the number is small or large....the fact that there is 1 cent going to this is absurd

So, no, I am not missing your point. I just see it as irrelevant in this instance

As stated who cares! The point was to bring up how Karl has mis represented info like he typically does. Nobody ever said the article wasn't important or needed to be brought up it's about Karl's lack of proper information.

Been trying to say that for several posts now

Whether the number he gave is wrong is irrelevant to the main point.

Nobody cares if it is exactly right or not. The point is AT&T passing their own mistake off onto its customers

Just drop it. My point was why did you even respond to this??? Corona brought up a valid point in Karl's misreporting. That's all he was doing and then you had to come in and say you don't care. Well you may not but alot of us are sick of misreporting on this site.

Actually you're leaving out additional information.

quote:
Remember that one time charge on Hittner's November bill? It showed up again in December.

AT&T told NewsChannel 5 it will continue to show up on Hittner's bill, every month, for about the next four years.

...

A spokesperson with AT&T could not explain why phone bills say "one time charge." He said on average the charges will last about four years. He promised to look into the discrepancy but could not get back to the I-Team Monday night.

I understand how fashionable it is to misrepresent articles, but read it again:
quote:
Remember that one time charge on Hittner's November bill? It showed up again in December.

AT&T told NewsChannel 5 it will continue to show up on Hittner's bill, every month, for about the next four years. However, not every Missouri customer will see an increase. If you own a business or live in the City of St. Louis, AT&T said it will not pass its tax onto you, because the city did not take part in the settlement.
Karl was correct. Why's a crowd here saying he was wrong?

I apologize. I overlooked the part where AT&T told the new station it would show up every month for four years.

Nothing wrong with making a mistake, we all make them.

I guess my point is that Karl makes them too sometimes, and all it takes is an IM to him to point them out. Blasting him for it, saying it's indicating repeated bias, jeez. I could have said the same about you, equally unfairly, but there's no need for it you know?

Because it's fashionable for them to bash Karl? I can think of no other explanation.

You keep telling me to drop it yet keep responding. Which is it?

To top all of this off, you were wrong on the misrepresentation. Classic. Kudos
