Re: [360] Kicked off xbox live when another xbox signs in.

What does "the connection is messed up" mean? If it is messed up how you are playing in the first place?

I stated it in post #12 but I will say it again. I am lucky to get 99kb download during the peak hours (4pm-midnight) In today's world this would be considered super slow. During the early morning/afternoon I am able to get my full 1.5mb/s download speeds and both xbox's are able to get online uninterrupted. Doing a ping test during the peak hours has also shown that I am getting some packet loss. Like I stated before the problem only happens during the peak hours. My cable company has over saturated the node and it needs to be split. They claim it is suppose to happen this week. Once the node is split my speeds should go back to normal 24/7.

10am speed

Speed test other night around 9pm

notice the high ping. I ran this test while ONE 360 was online. Notice that I am not even reaching 1mb!

you don't get it. I HAVE 2 XBOXES IN MY HOME. You can't play the SAME 2 games on xbox live even with different ID's. We pay for 3 different xbox id's and cannot play the same game at once. We cant play COD4, Borderlands and some others, you will get kicked out.

Is it because they dont want you cheating on Live? I don't know. Recently (i have uverse) I got static ip's from ATT and gave one to each Xbox and i can now go on with both xboxes with the same game. Live must think its 2 different houses.

Say what you want all you armchair computer guru's. This is how it is plain and simple. It has nothing to do with bandwidth. Have you ever measured the amount of bandwidth some games take up? Its not much.
Sorry, once again mis information. As per the other poster have run multiple xbox's here playing same game, different games on different GT's w/ no probs. This has been w/ DSL & cable on Westell, Motorola, 2wire & netgear equipment. Bandwidth does come into play at somepoint as far a smooth game play, but it's about NAT'g and packets behind a router.

No armchairing here. Your adding of independent static's via your Uverse is just a waste of $$. Did you ever try to even configure the RG properly for XBL play? Because that's a router you know. Yes, some routers will not play nice, but not so much nowadays as opposed to a few years ago.

That's REALLY how it is, plain and simple.

Mudvayne, your situation is obviously something you'll have to address w/ Cablevision. I would definitely escalate your problem to an executive complaint as to getting this addressed, I mean regardless of what they tell you this shouldn't be acceptable because this is not what you're paying for. Again, just my 2c.

Here's mine:

Yea after asking for a supervisor and threatening to cancel the service I finally got an answer. It should be working properly again by the 27th. I do not understand why they can't give me a straight answer and send out techs that can't do anything about it.

Yeah, I'd love to know what was the issue and how it will be fixed.

They overloaded the Node. This has been going on for a few months. I finally got an answer from the techs to agree with the node being overloaded. They have workers splitting the node. Not sure how long it takes but the supervisor was very confident that I will be working properly soon.

My connection was fixed today by giving me a DOSCIS 3.0 modem. 15 down all day and night . Both xboxes were online at night when my connection would have been a 1! No problems what so ever.

Hey, that's great.

Does that mean that they upgraded the area to DOC 3 or was it just a modem issue the whole time?

I don't see how just the modem would've been an issue itself just because DOC3 was goin on because 15M is not a DOC 3 tier, but hey at least it's good to go.

I would invite to play something but our XB just bit the dust last week. Was a launch unit that lasted almost 3 yrs before RROD and then about 16 months on the fix, so technically I got over 4 yrs on same unit, that's really unheard of.

Peace!

It was not a modem issue, but the way it looks is that the DOC 3 bands to three channels as opposed to the older modems only bonding to one. My original problem could reappear again in the future if they do not split the nodes and just give everyone a DOC 3 modem.
