| AT&T will hopefully get their act together because this is a new year. Hopefully they have realized that data usage needs to remain unmetered. If they can truly realize and hopefully accomplish this seemingly long-distanced dream, they will gain a lot of their reputation back and be seriously considered for a lot more than they currently are.
They are a great provider in my area, incredibly superior to Verizon. Yet they apparently have issues elsewhere.. |

| Here AT&T is a bit faster than Sprint (the big MBB provider from what I can tell in our area) because 850MHz stretches farther and they have a tower or two in town with dual T1s. Srint has the same thing but they run on 1900 so that dual-T1 signal doesn't come out to me.
That said, though AT&T is faster at my location, the 5GB cap means that I don't take AT&T seriously as a broadband alternative for anyone unless they're the only 3G in the area (not the case 99.99% of the time). When you can get unmetered 3G on Sprint for $70 and AT&T costs $60 for 3GB guess who you'll use?
Honestly I think it'll be LTE time before AT&T finally uncaps their data plans, or at least raises them to something reasonable (e.g. 20GB). In the meanwhile Sprint is more than happy to sell you an unlimited 3G connection (through resellers) or 4G through its own service, and T-Mobile will sell you unlimited 3G through resellers, though their network isn't quite what even AT&T's is in many areas.
I hope I'm proven wrong though...the more providers there are with unlimited MBB, the higher the bar is set for places where DSL is slow/no-go and cable costs several thousand to install. |

| Yeah, I honestly fully agree. AT&T has great service, but the 5gb cap is a bit ridiculous. Luckily I have internet fairly everywhere I go, but I find 5gb a fairly ridiculous and minute cap. As do a bunch of others, I would assume.
I honestly thoroughly enjoy reading about Sprints offers and how great their deals are and their network is... The only problem is, they're simply not up to par here -- They're actually one of the most awful providers here, even t-mobile is better... which is saying a lot, because the only thing t-mobile really offers is value.
I hope that one day, they will realize that the internet is not something you can simply continue milking for the incredibly large profits that they make -- Eventually, hopefully, the people will revolt and get upset. |

I hate to break it to you but more than .01% of peolple don't have access to broadband. Sometimes 3G from mobile companies is the only chocie. But it isn't a choice when caps are 5 GB and overages are $503 per GB in at&t's case. |

| Please reread what I said there. 99.99% of the time IF AT&T has 3G service in a particular area THEN so does another provider (Verizon or Sprint). I'm not saying that 3G works everywhere...that's nowhere near the truth here. But most of the time where there's AT&T there's someone else also providing 3G service. |

Well of course because if you look at a Verizon map they are everywhere. But they still have the same lousy 5 GB cap at&t does. There overages are little less outrageous at $51.20 per GB. Still totally insane though. |

| It's little-known, but Millenicom has a 10GB cap for the same price as Verizon. The upgrade jsut happened, but MCom has never ha overages on their Verizon-resold service, just throttling to 200 kbps. Much preferable IMO since latency is still less than dialup. |
