Re: Bruce County. Nervous folks up there. said by DKS:said by hicks :said by stacked Deck : The county. Sounds like some backwater Southern US style goings on. Consultant a Bell shill? Some palms greased? More likely he was covertly subsidized by Bell and his fee was minimal. Any background on this guy? The tendering seems fishy. Who are these members of the corporate service committee? Apparently the county was rushed to make a decision or be open to litigation by Bell. Glad I don't live there. If you have any proof, then make it. Otherwise your comments are libelous. DKS gets riled up. Libel chill folks. Lets see some questions. Some speculation. Some article regurgitation. Am I connecting dots that those in the article couldn't state in print? Something to hide up there DKS? |

If you want to start connecting the dots, inquire of the background of the consultant who made the recommendation. What I find fascinating is the BMTS, an ILEC, did not submit a tender, although they would have the expertise and resources to do so. -- Need-based health care not greed-based health care. |

| Normally a wireless consortium is made up of the locals in a attempt to gain funding. Do we know what local providers the consortium is made up of? As for as I knew BMTS only has DSL and dialup but have there own Co. I could be wrong. As far as a witch hunt on the consultant..... Chances are he was told who to recommend. Thank god he didn't recommend xplornet then all the local wisps would be screwed. So the locals have to compete with a USB dongle on a licenced band, its not going to trample the whole free spectrum and we all know how quick those cell towers will get overloaded on bells network. What I was told is if a county does not give the money to bell or xplornet the province will not kick in there share of the funding. I would rather the county throw the money away than put the locals out of business (like in almost every other county this funding has been handed out in). My biggest problem with a witch hunt is there is no such thing as a witch. -- A piece of crap in a box with a guaranteed sticker on it is nothing but a guaranteed piece of crap. As for Bruce Telecom: (per the link above) Their nearly 100-year-old ILEC, Bruce Telecom, plans to add wireless this year to go along with the next generation service it launched in 2009, digital television.
We have a fairly wide product offering, new CEO Eric Dobson told Cartt.ca in an interview Wednesday (his third day on the job), and in the second quarter of this year we will be launching a wireless product.
More on Bruce Wireless will be sure to come out. |
