@aol.com

Now tell me this

I just ordered ATTBi service. Now the salesman told me that if I network my two computers that without buying an additional IP that I could not be on the internet with both computers at the same time. I said thats fine the other computer is just going to be used to check e-mail. Now is this true or can I surf the net on both the computers at the same time without paying the additional 4.95 a month if they are networked? Sorry if this is a dumb question i'm new to all this

it is true if you do not use some kind of conneciton sharing. if you hook them both up without that then he is right.

buy a router and you'll be just fine
as far as they know the router is the only computer hooked to the net

Yes, but if you notice, he's coming from an AOL domain. I've never used AOL; I can't say for certain what issues might arise using the AOL client with a router. Anyone here know the answer?

Can't tell you about AOL usage with a router. But, you can bet it won't be good LMAO.

Real geeks use real computers on real networks.

You can just get your own router, ATTBi won't know the difference. If you're that worried, just clone your MAC address to the router (LinkSys routers have this feature). And as far as I've seen, you can use AOL on 2 machines from behind the router, but, why the hell would you want or need AOL? Just have everyone sign up for AIM, and cancel AOL. You can now still use your screen names still on AIM, and not need AOL.

Yes, that's right, I'm hatin' on AOL. Hatin' like Star and Buc Wild in the am. (It's a NYC thing)

Not a problem since his first sentence was "I just ordered ATTBi service."
