Got it, Nick - many thanks Edit to add:However, when I ran the Java Verfication Tool it told me I already had this build installed, so I installed over top all the same, just to be sure. |

Thanks!
How long does it usually take for the updater to get the latest version? |
|
|
| |
it varies and in some cases not at all |

Not at all? Seriously? They never notify users a newer version? That's sad. |

Anyone have the link to download? The first link goes to something called GlassFish. The site and my copy of the Java console show 6u17 available only...

Ooh, if that is the case, then I skip it! Thanks. However, there are improvements on speed if I am reading them correctly. |

However, this version appears to correct a bug I had with the previous version (Update 17) in Windows 7 where the Sun Java Console option under tools would not work properly unless running as an adminstrator (with Protected Mode in IE off). This option now works correctly under a limited account in Windows 7. |

Has anyone else had a Firefox extension added as a result of this update?
I have process running called jqs.exe (which I assume is java quick starter), as well as a JQS extension, which can only be disabled - the buttons for removal are greyed out. I don't recall seeing an option to opt-out of this during install.
Thanks for nothing, java....
/edit - it looks like it can be removed from the java control panel - the same section where you disable that daft tray icon. |
