Re: I love how the original poster of this review
First off I'm trying to figure out how to delete the entire thing as I'm no longer a Charter client and second off if I was so wrong why did I finally get a huge credit for the inconvenience.
People can read whatever they want into things but facts are facts and they screwed up and in the end settled things because even though I had faults into this mess the major issue was them as well as incorrect billing.
You see here's the issue direct from Charter's records:
12/07/09 09:44:42 EFT MasterCard $50.00 Unable to process payment. Please try again later.
10/18/09 09:24:58 EFT MasterCard $75.58 Unable to process payment. Please try again later.
09/25/09 12:44:02 EFT MasterCard $60.00 Unable to process payment. Please try again later.
09/25/09 12:42:20 EFT MasterCard $60.00 Unable to process payment. Please try again later.
Their own system was screwed up and didn't process my payment. The systems that are supposed to notify me that this happens apparently didn't work. Didn't even get the automated message that calls your phone from the nice pre-recorded lady that says you have an important message from Charter's customer service which all of a sudden started working again at the end of the month two weeks after my issues were resolved.
As I travel quite a bit I am setup on auto-pay which is - duh - supposed to automatically pay my bill. I don't take the time to check every single transaction especially when they are that small. a few bucks here and there and I generally don't notice until I sit down to do quarterly tax reports. Silly, yes, but do what I do and try to keep track of every little charge and receipt on a daily basis and you'll probably have a nervous breakdown.
Since my issue was resolved guess what I see now:
12/10/09 02:21:13 EFT Visa $74.00 Thank you for your payment. 033562
Now I want all these brilliant people to tell me how this crap is my fault since ya'll want to chime in like you have any idea what's going on and just say it's because I didn't pay my bill. I paid my bill - tell me how it's my fault that Charter didn't take their money!
But I think I will correct the scores appropriately since they did, in the end, resolve the issue after nearly two months dealing with Corporate IN PERSON in St. Louis.
How did it go from a Mastercard to a Visa,,, I mean really... You can see what you owe on your bill.. I check my bank regulary to see if the monies have been pulled out..Either way its bad money management on your part on the billing
Had to go to a Visa because in order to pay a simple bill I had to get a prepaid debit card since their system refused to process my payment.
Three months later I paid my bill over the phone using the same rejected MasterCard. Two days later I tried to pay an install charge on another service address and guess what - it again doesn't take the credit card. Bank says its Charter's fault as well.
Far as keeping an eye on the bill isn't that the main reason for Auto-Pay? It takes care of that for me. Secondly in any other case I get the nice auto-caller 'Taylor from Charter Communications' reminding me to contact customer service. I get a disconnect notice in the mail. That time - nothing. One day there's just no service.
Just never make the mistake of turning down the paper bill over their preferred electronic system. I sure won't.
