LoL!! I'll be paying a dime more!

$50.00, instead of $49.90/month... No problem!

Been a MetroPCS customer ever since Cingular bought the "real" ATT Wireless, and tried to stick us with new phones and rate plans. Seeing firsthand how Cingular's GSM service was a poor replacement from ATTws' TDMA here (shut down when the "Borging" was complete), I decided to check out other carriers.

With my ol Nokia 6360 still up and running, and after a few "I know this great bar in the boondocks"--(now, can you get service there, hehe) trips with a few friends, I found I could try Metro PCS' service for a month, and figured I could resell the phone I needed to buy on Craigslist, for minimal loss (which I did!). After multiple instances of friends borrowing it when their new Cingular phone was without a signal, I kept their service, and *did* sell the (cheap) Nokia, after getting a 6265i, which I just replaced last week. (with a Motorola QA30)

Bottom line:

The Good:
Straightforward, flat, unmetered rates. Its nice to be able to talk to clients, tell them every mouse-click they have to do to get "it" done, and not have to worry how many 1000's of minutes I've used that month.

Service, darn good service, everywhere I tend to be. When somewhere else (i.e., Yerington, Nevada), I found the money spent on roaming to be so far total less than the cost of a decent pizza.

I've always had a 45-50 buck-a-month service with them, and in 3 or so years, keep getting more for it, some things are gimmicks, some are truly handy.

The Temporarily Annoying:
They tend to place icons, etc., for extra-charge stuff (like @metro) in prominent places on their phones. However, that is what Nokia Diego (and whatever the Motorola equiv is) are for

Go to a "company store" for your dealings... I'll leave that at that.

The Bad:
Nothing so far... Else I'd probably be with Verizon.
