As soon as you get off the promotional, you can switch to *basic* DV, which costs you $24.95 /month.

 I did consider this, but then we'd have to make sure we did our long-distance calling on our cell phones. Even then, it'd still be a lot more per month than Callcentric ($24.95 + $5 modem). Granted, I think CDV a better product than standard VoIP if only for the QOS aspect you get running voice outside the HSI broadband pipe. Still, it's not $20/month better. At least, not to me.
