 | [DSL] Recommended DSL Modem for AirPort w/ IPv6 on AT&T West My Motorola 2210 just up and died on me (six months after my AT&T 2Wire). Like no lights, bricked dead. Apparently the 2210 has a tendency of overheating that gradually kills it.
Anyway, I'm looking for a new modem that:
works with AT&T West (SBC Yahoo) DSL works seamlessly with the Apple AirPort Express supports IPv6 tunneling won't die within a year
Any recommendations? |

I'd look for a used eBay special Speedstream 5200 or 4200 that was handed out to Windstream customers. They are a Full Routers and I've found them nothing but dependable/reliable. -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |

 | Thanks! I will look into the Speedstream to see if it has what I need. |

 | reply to John Hupp Models like the SpeedStream 5100 B (5 lights on the front panel), 4100 and 4100 B are easy to find locally (thrift stores, etc.), since AT&T has used a ton of them. They are not full routers, but the 2210 wasn't, either.
If you can live with something that is harder to initially set up (but will give you great results), check into the Motorola/Netopia 3346N-002 or the 3347 (various suffixes). |

 | I just ordered an overstock (i.e. new) 4100 from eBay for $25! I decided against anything with an integrated router, as I'm quite happy with my AirPort Base Station.
It seems like the 4100's feature set is pretty much identical to the 2210, minus the overheating problem.
It apparently also outperforms the 2210. |
