kudos:3 | Silent Case suggestions I'm in the midst of a cross country move and as such I have my overclocked Q9550 sitting in our main living space in a temporary apartment while we house hunt. The problem is that the sucker is LOUD! I had it previously in my basement in my house in Delaware, where it was well out of earshot 
So I'm looking to get a new case that cools as well, but is much quieter.
I currently have a Thermaltake U120 Extreme and a 120mm fan on that, and I think it's dual ball bearing so should be relatively quiet, but it's also running at ~2700 rpm. Part of this process will be to get fan controls working properly in my OS (FreeBSD 8.0), but I'm also seeking a newer case which is optimized for cooling AND sound.
So if anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears. I'll likely keep the existing power supply, which will not be optimal sound-wise, but I'm looking to try to keep this to $100-150 if I can, and I am sure I can't do both a quiet case + fans and a quiet PSU.

Good question - because the case was shipped cross-country and like an idiot I listened to the people at the UPS store when they said it was sufficiently packaged in the original box. When it got here, I had doubts it would even boot! The video card was loose and flapping around the case, cables were loose, the hard drive rails (plasic) were broken off so the hdds were flapping against each other, the CPU fan was off and rattling around as well, etc.
Luckily, she booted up and has been running for a week or so ok...But the case is beat up and needs to be replaced anyway, so I decided to strive for something more quiet.

| Holy crap! What the heck is wrong with UPS, those idiots. I would have dinged them for being abusive, myself. It would have had to see some extremely rough handling for all that to happen. I used to be a warehouse foreman and we never handled anything like that!

I have a Antec Sonata case that is really quiet. I understand there are a couple of other Antec cases that are very quiet cases as well.
The Antec Sonata Elite case is on sale at NewEgg.com for around $80.00
