Re: [DSL] Recommended DSL Modem for AirPort w/ IPv6 on AT&T West

Thanks! I will look into the Speedstream to see if it has what I need.

Look at the User Guides for their features.

Models like the SpeedStream 5100 B (5 lights on the front panel), 4100 and 4100 B are easy to find locally (thrift stores, etc.), since AT&T has used a ton of them. They are not full routers, but the 2210 wasn't, either.

If you can live with something that is harder to initially set up (but will give you great results), check into the Motorola/Netopia 3346N-002 or the 3347 (various suffixes).

I just ordered an overstock (i.e. new) 4100 from eBay for $25! I decided against anything with an integrated router, as I'm quite happy with my AirPort Base Station.

It seems like the 4100's feature set is pretty much identical to the 2210, minus the overheating problem.

It apparently also outperforms the 2210.
