Why bother?

My current ISP Charter gives me ESPN360. I don't need to buy a $50 per year "gold" subscription and I don't need to pay some extra fee to get it either. Now if this had stuff that was on regular ESPN and ESPN 2 like MNF then that'd be different.

You're paying it as part of your monthly internet bill. It's just included as opposed to being listed as "some extra fee".

yes my ISP pays 5 cents per sub per month. So my share is 60 cents per year. And as long as I'm paying that 60 cents anyways I might as well use my ISP to access it.

No it's not actually. We have Metrocast.

I already pay for the Gold XBL subscription so depending on what the monthly fee is I would consider it.

I agree. But that doesn't change the fact that you're still paying for it. Just because it's not an extra fee doesn't mean you're not paying for it.

And bad for me, since I really don't want to support ESPN. I previously did that by not purchasing goods from ESPN nor their sponsors.

Now my internet connection is tied to their god damned service.

While you THINK you have access anywhere you might be by logging in, you can't access ESPN360 from any ISP where ESPN doesn't have a agreement with the ISP/Cable operator. So it won't work with TWC or Cablevision as examples. And if you have a wireless data plan they won't allow it there either even with a approved carrier (ATT Wireless vs ATT U-verse).

You can access it. You just have to set up your account while on your "approved" espn360 connection. Then when you're away from home, go to espn360's website and log in. You'll be able to watch, even on ISPs which don't pay for it.

Sorry, wrong! I've tried, I have lot's of friends with Verizon DSL and can watch 360 at their homes using a account they setup for me but I can't on my home ISP which doesn't have an agreement, they literally block the IP addresses for the streaming part of the service. I can log in, see my profile name, post etc but not watch games.

Meh, I won't argue with you. I'll just laugh as I watch ESPN360 through my work's QWEST connection.

You'll notice that QWEST is not on that list. When I try viewing while *NOT* logged in, it won't work. When I view after logging in it works just fine.
