CenturyLink's Provided Wireless Router

I just got CenturyLink DSL. I came from WildBlue, and I'm loving every second of it! But they gave me this wireless router, and it seems to have a weird SSID, I think it's called, and this annoyingly long WEP key. Is there anyway to change the network name and password? I'd prefer to change the network name and get rid of the password because the nearest house is not close enough to tap into my internet.

What is the model of your router?

You have to open a web browser and point it to 192.168.2.1 - login with 1234

Click on Network, then wireless - from there you can change the SSID and the security key.

yes to both but i need to have one in front of me,cant remember the steps but its not hard.try calling the help desk.or maybe someone here can walk you through.192.168.1.1 would be your way into the routers interface.

I just uploaded the latest firmware from the CenturyLink website, and the version didn't change. Guess I got the latest already! But how often do firmware updates come out?

I like keeping EVERYTHING up to date. Haha.
