Really? here in Texas I switched from DSL to U-verse Internet and was never told there was a dial-up offering. Can you provide a link?

I don't have a link but was told that. Just search the att site for dialup numbers and use your userid. It worked form over 18 months ago. I haven't used it since.

I found this link on the support page for u-verse »www.att.com/esupport/art ··· =9000834

Can I use a temporary access number to use a dial connection while traveling?
The Travel/Temporary Connection screen lets you search for an access number and connect to the AT&T service without creating a Connection in Connection Manager.
This is a useful way to access the AT&T service while traveling outside your local calling area. Travel/Temporary numbers default to the last number used so a number can be used more than once from your location if you stay there for a while.
To use Travel/Temporary Number:

From the Connection Manager main screen, select Travel/Temporary Connection from the Connection drop-down menu.
At the top of the screen, type in an Area Code, then click Go.

When the search results appear, click on the access number you wish to select.
In the lower box, select a Member ID.
Enter the Password for that ID.
Note: Type any special dialing instructions in front of the Dial Number, separated by a comma. For example, if you need to access an outside line from a hotel room you might enter: 9, 555-1212).
Click Connect.

He isn't asking for the access numbers. He wants to know if a U-Verse customer gets free dialup access.

I'm wondering. I haven't used the modem in my laptop since around 4 years ago. My desktop is almost 3 years old, and I think it has a modem but I have never even tested whether it works.

Computers no longer come with floppy drives. Before long, they won't come with modems either.

Yes you can use your U-verse account login for dial up. I use it for traveling to access me email.

Dial-up? Could care less about that. I'd rather you poke needles... no, make that one of those giant knitting needles in my eye.

As far as I know you no longer have a dial up account with UVERSE.

will have to try from my in-laws this coming weekend.... I am not thrilled at all of re-experiencing dial-up, however, they are in a tiny town with no 3G on my phone and no Wi-Fi to tap into.

I would check to see if there is a local access number for that tiny town now

If there is a local access number have one of your inlaws dial the number and listen for the modem tones
You could also do this yourself at your home

I am familiar with the ATT Dialer which is commonly used in businesses. Is this the proper software? »help.attbusiness.net/ind ··· ads.home If so, what is the account? I assume the userid is @att.net.
