Re: 4850 x2 or 5770? avoid crossfire and dual-gpu cards when possible. besides the 5870 and 5970, the 5000 series cards are a little overpriced for the performance besides adding eyefinity and DX11. i would still prefer a 5770 over a 4870 if the price is close but the 4890 is pretty significantly faster than both for not much more.
the 5770 will be fine for you and offers the latest technology. the 4890 is a little faster, possibly cheaper, but wont support DX11, triple monitors, etc.
i wouldnt consider the 4850x2.
