And while some people do have issues with DSL service, I won't deny that, Qwest, of all the DSL providers out there, still comes out ahead over many others.
If you notice, the Qwest forum here is pretty quiet.. not many issues... not to mention, Qwest, ala US West, was the first major player in the DSL business.. they didn't mess around with their product like SW Bell, Verizon, SBC, Pacific Bell, etc. did. They supported their product as if it were a real network line, unlike the others who put many restrictions, port blocks, etc on the service.. if you needed something, they gave it to you.. their service, in my opinion, and experience with my customers and locations that I have it, Qwest has been one of the most, if not THE most, reliable connection.. I mean, 7 years with out any down time and rock solid connections/speeds is pretty damn good.
As far as them pushing out more services and in more areas.. yea, they lack.. but again, the very service that I'm boasting about was also their down fall.. US West put all their eggs in DSL back in the 90's and nothing into wireless.. becuase of that, they are suffering today.
But anyway.. |

I will agree, I have some friends with qwest and they all love the connection reliability. But they all hate the speeds qwest is offering. I do know that you can't build a CO everywhere, but I live in a high-population suburb of St.Paul, there's a million places qwest could put a CO to compete in our area with comcast. But they don't!
The place they build the CO is right where all the restaurants and schools are. The closest homes to the CO they built is only qualified for 1.5meg. The restaurants use them for their free wifi, but all the schools around use another isp (TIES if anybody knows of them).
So now comcast just has a free-ride in my neighborhood. They do a good job with that, but if qwest came in and competed with them, they could do better. And qwest has a ton of open land being sold to development to bring in a CO to come here, but they don't.
