You're so right. When I was a commuter in the 1990s (instead of a telecommuter today) Newsday was my subway paper. Easier to handle than the Times, but more civil and less seedy than the Post or Daily News. Although relatively young, Newsday has a proud heritage. It's a shame to see it trashed like this.
