Residential T1 - DEMARC extension?

Is this something I'll need for a residential T1 installation?

What, exactly, does this entail? If the telco drops a port at the point of entry, can I simply run some CAT5 to the router, or is there more to it than that?

Re: Residential T1 - DEMARC extension?

every professional cable installer will laugh at the word "simply"! yah, run some cat 5, keep it away from fluorescent lights, and when the circuit installer guy shows up, offer a nice sandwich and a 6 pack for him to punch it down for you at both ends.

Thanks... I just wanted to be sure that was the right sort of cable (I can't imagine what else it might be, but better to ask before than after).

Make sure you have a ground wire.
