| reply to Mahosila Since you play games, your best bet is to upgrade the Video card.
If you got the $$ get the best car out right now, Radeon 5870.
Then if you still have $$ you could upgrade to 4gb of ram since it looks like you have 2GB now. But before you upgrade your ram to 4gb make sure your running a Windows 64bit Operating system to take full advantage of them ram, so upgrading to Windows 7 64bit would work for this. -- Computer: Intel Quad Core, 3gb OCZ DDr3, EvGA 8800GTS 512mb, 2x Plextor Burners, Corsair 620psu, Antec 900Case, 7mbit DSL from teksavvy

I have a 5870 and the drivers have a serious problem with random crashing attributed to powerplay. This is my second 5870 with the same exact problem.
Anyway, yeah, your CPU is pretty beefy so you're set on the platform, RAM could use a little work. I'd get more RAM first 4GB is ideal) then video card. A 9800GTX should hold you down until the new nVidia cards come out. |

 | reply to Mahosila i think he has 2 2GB sticks. that program is pretty worthless for sharing quick specs. it's entirely too in-depth and not quick enough to glance at and know what u got. just post a CPU-Z/GPU-Z screenshots next time.
i have a 5870 and it's the most problem-free card i've had since x1800XT. not that i didnt like my other cards, but they each had a problem or 2 that bugged me or took months to get fixed (if ever) or the drivers had issues. IMO 5870 launch, aside from production problems, is how every gfx card needs to be launched.
while we speculate that fermi will be a fantastic product, we still dont know enough about launch-day models and pricing, let alone performance, to be the judge just yet. i wouldnt wait for it without knowing more specifics. also, AMD is supposed to have its next round of cards ready for fermi as well.
pretty much the only things i've heard about fermi are that it supports nvidia's version of Eyefinity including 3D and that i think only the flagship $500+ card will initially debut. -- Somnambulator - t3h 5133pw41k3r
