4 edits | Yes, I still use it, but testing both with and without it has proven it isn't the culprit. I've turned it on and off, tried it on an identical machine that I've never used it on and had the same results either way, except for the 3-5 FPS increase when using it on maximum emulation, No Software Rasterization. There is no un-installer. You simply enable or disable it's bypasses by using "Apply", and "Restore" buttons in addition to setting levels of emulation.
I don't know how long 196.21 nVidia drivers been up, but I'm going to give that a try. See if it resolves the issue, but I have a feeling it won't. My gut feeling is that it has to do with the mod or it's implementation of shading.
ADD: Ok, Tried 196.21 drivers @ defaults, no nVemulate cranked game settings all the way down turned off SLI
Still same issue. This narrows it down to some sort of auto-adjust problem with the game. Not sure exactly what, but it appears I'm likely the only one having the issues since I can't find a similar report anywhere on the web.
Gonna try to re-install the game, then I don't know what to do.
ADD: Tried re-install, same problem. Tried different Resolutions to see effect. All resolutions exhibit the same artifact, though the higher the resolution the thinner the lines become. This appears to be the only game that I have problems with. Far Cry does not show these artifacts when using HDR, so I'm not sure what gives.
Gonna try some command line switches now. Working with Shadows, DX mode used.
Any more suggestions?
I also just thought of something. If the problem cropped up from OL 2.1 to Stalker Complete RC1 and I was using full dynamic lighting on both, what was done differently that is causing the black lines?
ADD: Just got an e-mail update from one of the coders, who provided me a link I hadn't seen or found in my searches. »74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:pRx···nk&gl=us
This also begs the question. How would I go about downgrading from the DX10 Alkyl install with the ver 3 fix applied to DX9?
