OptimumOnline/Cablevision - 100% upgraded, 101/15 is highest tier Comcast - 85+% upgraded, 50/10 is highest tier in most markets, some get 100/15, aggressive schedule Cox - Significant percentage upgraded, 50/5 is highest tier Suddenlink - Significant percentage upgraded, relatively aggressive schedule, 20/2 is highest tier Charter - A couple of markets upgraded, 60/5 is highest tier Mediacom - Some markets deployed, 50/5 highest tier in some markets, 105/10 in others Midcontinent - All markets (?) upgraded, 50/5 is highest tier RCN - Several markets upgraded, 60/10 is highest tier for business, 60/6 for consumer (?) BrightHouse - Some markets upgraded, 40/5 is highest tier, possibly higher tiers coming Knology - Several markets upgraded, 25/4 is highest tier, higher tiers coming Service Electric Broadband - Several markets upgraded, 30/2 is highest tier TWC - Some of NYC upgraded, upstate markets and central TX planned, 50/5 is highest tier Bend Broadband - 100% upgraded but caps remain, 60/2 is highest tier Sunflower Broadband - Some markets upgraded, 100% upgraded soon, 50/1 is highest tier (suckiness)
Not sure about Canada, but I think haw, Rogers, Cogeco and Videotron all have D3 packages in at least some areas, with 2-5 Mbps up and 50-100 Mbps down and ridiculous caps.
Am I missing anyone? | | 1 edit | Last I heard Bresnan (13th largest MSO) was looking into D3 CMTS' but don't think any area is actually served by one - and if they are I am almost certain there is really no advantage of being served by one at least not now. The highest residential tier is 15/1. I, and several others depending on city, have major difficulty even getting there much less any typical D3 tiers as mentioned above. | | iansltx join:2007-02-19 Golden, CO kudos:2 Reviews:

| D3 should *theoretically* allow for higher speeds even on lower tiers because everything's load-balanced across the various channels. That's why Suddenlink deployed D3 AFAIK, even though their tiers even now top out at 20/2 (they topped out at 12/768 pre-D3). | | |

NONE of these providers with exception of cablevision want to give any sort of upload! -- When I gez aju zavateh na nalechoo more new yonooz tonigh molinigh - Ken Lee | | iansltx join:2007-02-19 Golden, CO kudos:2 | When the competition is DSL, they don't need to... | | patcat88 join:2002-04-05 Jamaica, NY kudos:1 | reply to iansltx I disagree, adding extra DOCSIS 1/2 channels and then assigned modems to channels would work, but that means buying new CMTSes for more coax ports on them, and I think at that point you might as well buy D3 CMTSes. | | patcat88 join:2002-04-05 Jamaica, NY kudos:1 | reply to dvd536 said by dvd536:Do i see a theme here? NONE of these providers with exception of cablevision want to give any sort of upload! Because the uploads are still the exact same contention ratio as before D3. D3 adds no upload capacity, so when a cable co ups the upload capacity for the D3 tier, they didn't split any nodes to create that upload capacity. Because of extreme congestion on the upload channels (most systems have only 8 6mhz upstream channels, you must fit DAVIC, DOCSIS for voice, DOCSIS for internet, DOCSIS for VOD, any analog cable TV control channels, and possibly a SCADA system for node/amp/power supply monitoring, and what little upload channels are left can go towards VIP business customers running something special. There is no room for upstream channel bonding on most cable systems. | | iansltx join:2007-02-19 Golden, CO kudos:2 | reply to patcat88 The CMTSes are cheap either way. | |
