Comcast DOCSIS 3.0

Comcast delivers D3 here in Dallas GA., but only on the download. Not on the upload. They doubled my download speed to 16mbps but kept the upload speed at 2mbps. My Motorola modem shows channel bonding on the download (blue light) but not on the upload. I don't think anyone is doing channel bonding on the upload (DOCSIS 3.0) yet. The asymmetry between download and upload speed is getting asinine. They've added two more tiers of service Ultra, and Extreme 50. Extreme 50 has a ludicrous price of 99.95 per month. DOCSIS 3.0 is capable of speeds much higher than this, but the prices probably would be too if those speeds were offered.

No-one is due to no modem (or it might be the head end equipment - I forget) being certified for bonded upload yet.

I bought my own Surfboard 6120 modem and upgraded to the 50/10 plan here in Baltimore City (where there is no FIOS in sight......not even negotiations for a franchise agreement as far as I know....unlike Baltimore County which is like 2 blocks away from me and has FIOS). Comcast is running a promotion $49.95 for 12 months of 50mbps/ 10mbps service. I am very happy with D3!!!!!!
